TOUR ITINERARY

Taormina
-
Mount Etna and Sicilian Winery
-
Siracusa
-
Noto
Begin this action packed mini-tour in Taormina - the most famous resort town and breathtaking place in Sicily. Discover the fabulous stories of Sicilian people whilst enjoying the ‘bella vista’ of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea that provide the cinema-worthy backdrop for Taormina. Twisting mediaeval streets and a second-century Greek theatre add to its romantic air.
Journey on to Mt Etna, which is the highest active volcano in Europe, at 3343 meters high. We drive up to 2000 meters, jump on the Funivia (cable car) to 2500 meters and then walk or drive to 2900 meters depending on Etna’s mood.
On the way back down the mountain we visit a famous Sicilian winery for a five course degustation with wines. Sicilian wines are known for their bold flavours, intense aromas, and high acidity, which make them a perfect match for the region's hearty cuisine
We then head down to Siracusa, which is located in the southeast corner of the island of Sicily, next to the Gulf of Syracuse beside the Ionian Sea. This 2,700-year-old city played a key role in ancient times, when Sicily was one of the major powers of the Mediterranean world. We will walk you through a fascinating ancient castello.
On day 2, after we visit the world famous Archeological Park where you can experience the unique Ear of Dionysus and the fascinating stories that surround it in the cool of the morning before the day gets too hot.
Then off to beautiful Noto for a traditional Sicilian lunch and wander around this beautiful Baroque town.
We will return you back to Taormina in the afternoon after this wonderful two day mini tour, hopefully with full bellies and some Sicilian souvenirs or wines!
